Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Saturday, November 5th the Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural opened for the season in its’ new location at the kindergarten El Jardin de Niños Emiliano Zapata. Opening day was sunny and warm, and an enthusiastic crowd of over 1400 locals and tourists attended – a whopping 50% increase over last years’ opening day.
Market Vendors included lots of last year's favorites with their offerings of farm fresh produce, salsas, pies and quiches, fresh pastas, baked goods, artisan breads, chocolates, locally roasted coffee, peanuts, salad dressings, body products, Vallarta maps, leather purses, jewelry, and unique arts and crafts.
The Market’s new food court area offer a scrumptious selection of barbecued meats on a bun, gourmet tamales, Italian sandwiches, coffee, tea, fresh juices, agua frescas, ice cream, and chocolate dipped bananas. There is plenty of seating at a community table in the food court, so come on down and shop, eat, visit with friends and enjoy the live music.
This coming Saturday, November 12th, new Vendors at the Market will include Asian food, an artisan baker, a micro greens producer and El Fortin from San Sebastian offering a great selection of jams, flavored oils, salad dressings and rubs. Each week you will find new and exciting products added to the Market selection.
The new location is spacious, the wide aisles making shopping easier, and the children’s crafting and face painting area makes this an event for the entire family. You can help the Market benefit the school by donating school supplies. For every item you bring you will receive a free raffle ticket for the weekly Market basket.
The Old Town Farmers Market - Tianguis Cultural has fast become one of Puerto Vallarta's most compelling weekend attractions where you can meet new friends, say hello to old ones, talk directly to the producers, buy great products, support the local economy and take part in activities for the whole family.
We invite you to visit us, 10 am to 2 pm, every Saturday from November through May inside the Emiliano Zapata kindergarten located on the west side of Pino Suarez, between V. Carranza and B. Badillo on Puerto Vallarta's South side.
If you are driving to the Market don’t worry about parking as there is plenty available on the streets or in the Lazaro Cardenas Parkade for a reduced rate of $10 pesos per hour for Market visitors.
