Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Puerto Vallarta Orchestra School, an institution sponsored by Via Cultural AC, will perform "A Classic Christmas" concert at Teatro Vallarta on Sunday, December 11th at 12:00 pm.
According to Orchestra Director Miguel Almaguer, this concert will demonstrate the growth of students as members of an orchestra as they perform a selection of concert music from various periods, including classical, romantic and post-Romantic.
The concert's program, selected by Conductor Maestro Miguel Almaguer, will include seven musical pieces: Two Noels, banda sinfónica II de Franz Liszt, Pizzicato Polca, Camareta II de Johan Strauss Jr.; Andante Festivo, Camareta II de Jean Sibelius; Selecciones de L´arlesianne de Georges Bizet, arrangements de D.Stone; Leroy Anderson Favorites, Blue Tango, Ballet of the Balla; The Syncopated Clock-Serenata; Sleigh Ride de Leroy Anderson - and conclude with M. Isaac arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Waltz of the Flowers.
A second concert will be performed at the Puerto Vallarta Regional Preparatory School's open air auditorium on Tuesday, December 13th at 6:00 pm, and a third will be held in Valle de Banderas at the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary Tintoque with the support of the Valle de Banderas Rotary Club.
The ticket price is $120 pesos for adults, $50 pesos for children, students with ID and senior citizens. The funds collected will help cover the Orchestra's presentation expenses and, hopefully, assist in the acquisition of more musical instruments.
