Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - As part of their Every Tuesday Movie Night film series, the Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad will present First Grader, an award-winning movie of the true-life story of an 84-year-old Kenyan who went back to school to get the education denied him in his youth, at the Paradise Community Center on Tuesday, January 3 at 7 pm.
Lauded at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Telluride Film Festival and the recent Palm Beach International Film Festival (where it was named Best Feature Film,) the screenplay for "The First Grader" was written by Ann Peacock ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe") and directed by Justin Chadwick ("The Other Boleyn Girl").
Doors open at 6 pm with food and refreshments available. The film will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available at door and the Paradise Community Center (PCC) everyday between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, and at Deja New!, Jacarandas #280 on the South side of Puerto Vallarta. Cost: Donation of $60 peso per ticket.
