Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Vendors from the Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural arrived at dawn Tuesday morning to clean up the street in preparation for the Market's grand opening on Saturday, December 10th. Volunteers swept and scrubbed the length of Pino Suarez where the Market will now be held. Join us this Saturday December 10th to welcome the new Vendors and for the official ribbon cutting ceremony, which will take place at 9:30 am.
The OTFM is Vallarta's only "producer market" where the Vendors must "make it, bake it, grow it, and sell it" themselves. Located in the heart of Emiliano Zapata, also known as the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, the Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural is now in its 3rd season of providing local fresh farm produce, artisan foods, unique arts and crafts, jewelry, and clothing. With the additional space you will also be able to get a massage or consult with a local chiropractor, and each week you will find new and exciting products and services.
After you browse through the more than 60 vendors on the street check out the great selection of foods available in the food court located inside the kindergarten. There you will find delectable choices including seafood paella, tacos al pastor, burritos, quesadillas, tamales, BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, coffee, fresh juices and agua frescas. There is a large community table and plenty of additional seating where shoppers can sit and relax while eating, visiting with friends and listening to the music.
The Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural is located on Calle Pino Suarez and inside the El Jardin de Ninos Emiliano Zapata, between V. Carranza and B. Badillo. Hours are every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1 pm, through May, 2012. Parking is available in the Lazaro Cardenas Parkade.
