Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Old Town Farmers Market is pleased to announce its long awaited move to a permanent home. Beginning December 10th the Market will be open from 9:30 to 1 pm on Pino Suarez Street between B. Badillo and V. Carranza. It has been a 2 year process to find a new home for the Market that opened on March 27th, 2010.
"We are very excited about the move to the street as it will provide opportunities for many more local artisans and open it up to being more of a community event," says Charlotte Semple, Founder of OTFM. Now that agreements have been reached between the City, local business associations and the Market, steps are underway to formalize the non profit that will administrate the Market.
The Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural is Vallarta’s only "producer" market where the Vendors "Make It, Bake It, Grow It, and Sell It." You will find a great selection of local farm fresh produce, artisan foods, unique arts and crafts, clothing and jewelry. Be sure to come each week as we will be adding to the selection including new vendors offering personal services and educational presentations on environmental and social issues.
The Market’s food court inside the school will still offer a great selection of freshly made foods and drinks for you to enjoy while seated at one of the community tables. This year the Market has a new children’s craft and face painting area so be sure and bring the little ones so the whole family can enjoy the day.
The Market will continue to support the school with much needed projects, so when you shop at OTFM you are not just supporting local producers but helping us to help the school. All proceeds from the weekly raffle will be donated to school projects so remember to bring school supplies for a free entry to the raffle.
Our vibrant community Market runs from the first Saturday in November to the last Saturday in May, rain or shine. Beginning December 10th you will find us every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1 pm on Pino Suarez between B. Badillo and V. Carranza.
