Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - All are invited to attend the opening of the "Splendor of Textile" exhibition at the Peter Gray Art Museum on the beautiful campus of the Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUC).
The "Splendor of Textile" exhibition features 14 master weavers from the internationally known Zapotec village of Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca. The exhibition features a rarely seen collection of colorful, naturally dyed tapestries, from miniatures to large format pieces, all created exclusively for wall decoration.
Four of the fourteen master weavers featured will be in attendance at the reception, to explain their work and to answer any of your questions. These weavings are exquisite works of art, worthy of collection for their folk art appeal as well as to complement any art or decorating style.
This temporary exhibition will begin on Thursday, January 26th from 5-8 pm, and will be in place until February 29th, along with a good selection from the permanent collection of the museum. Entrance to the Museum and the exhibition are free of charge.
