January 31, 2012

For the coming February full moon, Rancho Montalbeña is organizing their monthly Full Moon Horseback Ride, which finishes up with a BBQ on the beach of the luxury resort, Imanta.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - A favorite new monthly activity is back - the Full Moon Horseback Ride. For the coming February full moon, Rancho Montalbeña is organizing their monthly Full Moon Horseback Ride, which finishes up with a BBQ on the beach of the luxury resort, Imanta.

Between twilight and sunset, riders will be guided from the departure point of Rancho Montalbeña (located on the highway between Punta de Mita and Sayulita) on horseback through the village of Higuera Blanca, along a tropical forest trail, then down to the secluded beach at Imanta. Once there, guests may gallop alongside the ocean’s edge, or settle back in a cozy chair with a cold cerveza. Later, under the light of the full moon, beside a beachfront bonfire, guests enjoy a scrumptious barbecue dinner prepared by Imanta’s chef.

The trail winds through a stunning tropical jungle with towering palm trees. When the trail winds back down to the beach, you’ll feel as if you’ve found a slice of heaven, the cove is that lovely. The soft, packed sand makes an ideal surface for galloping along the ocean’s edge. Kind of like a movie.

Price per person is $250 USD, which includes your horse and gear for riding (horses will be individually selected for your experience level), guided trail ride, barbecue dinner, beer, tequila, and transportation back to Rancho Montalbeña. Guests also have the option of riding their horses back to the ranch.

Starting this month, Imanta is adding a new option: Ride, Dine & Sleep — for those who want to enjoy the complete Imanta experience — staying overnight at Imanta after the barbecue, on through breakfast. The cost is $875 USD (plus tax and service charge.)

The scheduled ride is February 6th, 7th, & 9th (the 8th is sold out!) For information or reservations, contact Imanta at: (329) 298-4200 or 4242; from the U.S. at 877-370-5427. Also online at: reservations(at)imantaresorts.com. Minimum of eight riders per evening required.
