Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Get ready folks! It's time for the annual "Subasta" at Puerto Vallarta's Public Library, Biblioteca Los Mangos. This is the festival's 12th year and it promises to be the largest, and most entertaining so far!

At 5:30 in the afternoon on the day of the event, outside of Los Mangos, you can register for the activities, have a drink at the bar, enjoy some entertainment, and have a look at the silent auction items.

Then, at 6:00 pm the fun really begins as the doors open to the library where you will be greeted by hosts/hostesses ready to assist and direct you to the various activities. The Bernice Starr Salon will be filled with a tremendous amount of fixed priced items - from hotel stays to dinners, spa treatments, and local tours. Also there will be four teams of lively volunteers that will be selling raffle tickets. This is not your everyday raffle game either. In this raffle, you are an instant winner and can claim your prize immediately!

There will be savory appetizers to munch on, all kindly donated by local restaurants, chefs and some of Vallarta's wonderful cooks. And a new addition this year, awesome desserts! Rich, delectable delights all being served with coffee in the spacious Benefactor's Room where you can have a seat, have a chat and take a break from the crowd.

At 7:00 pm, there will be a tribute to the well known sculptor, Ramiz Barquet, to honor his work and his life.

At 7:15 pm, join in and "Raise the Paddle" as the audience is encouraged to purchase much needed items for the library. Then at 7:30 pm let the bidding begin! This is the time and place to purchase some truly impressive pieces of artwork. All pieces are on display prior to the auction.

As always, we would like to remind you that Biblioteca Los Mangos is not "just a library". It is a cultural and learning center. Music, culture and art all go hand in hand with literature and reading. Los Mangos is a gift to everyone of all ages in Puerto Vallarta, and it operates solely on donations. The annual Subasta is the largest and most important fundraiser of the year for Los Mangos and we hope you will join in the fun, food, camaraderie, and celebration.
