Tickets for 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' are $250 and can be purchased at Coco's Kitchen, Pulpito 122 or online at BoutiqueTheatre.ca.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Boutique Theater Performing Arts Centre (a not-for-profit community theatre) presents The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, directed by David Restivo, with musical direction by Bob Bruneau and choreography by Jacobo Martinez.

Opening night is February 15, and the show will run four weeks through March 10 with performances on Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm at the newly renovated Boutique Theater Performing Arts Centre located at Naranjo 330, corner of Basilio Badillo, Zona Romantica, Puerto Vallarta.

The Tony award-winning musical revolves around the true story of the Chicken Ranch, an infamous brothel that operated in the small town of La Grange, Texas for over a hundred years until its closing in 1973.

The kind-hearted madam Miss Mona (Diane Briggs-Hoyle) and her soulful confidante, Jewel (Joan Houston), operate a clean business focused on guest satisfaction. Her well-known establishment has the endorsement and protection of the local sheriff (Michael J. Gibney). All that changes when the over-zealous television reporter, Melvin P. Thorpe (Danny Mininni), crusades to shut it down.

Add to that a side-stepping Governor (Steve Jackson), a waitress with secret desires, Doatsie Mae (Cynthia McManus), a colorful chorus of Miss Mona’s ladies, and a bunch of boot-kickin’ Texas Aggie football boys, and you have what the New York Times called "one big thrill of a musical."

The cast of 25 talented actors and dancers is composed of American and Canadian ex-pats and Mexican nationals, truly embodying the richness and diversity of Puerto Vallarta. The rest of the troupe includes Kathleen Palmer, Mary Jacobs, Jamie Coates, Ross Shapiro, Ron Sitarski, Roger Uscila, Aggie Unda, Ana Larios, Donna Davies, Cynthia Robles, Jacobo Martinez, Daniel Jayn, Alejandro Lamas, Juan Carlos Ramirez, Juan Pablo Hernandez, Alain Perreault, Pam Alexandra, Holly Wright and David Restivo.

Director David Restivo is thrilled to bring this raucous musical comedy hit to the Puerto Vallarta stage, having fallen in love with the show after seeing the Broadway touring production in Texas in the early 80s. This will be his directorial debut at Vallarta’s Boutique Theatre.

Musical Director Bob Bruneau leads the live country band, The Lone Star Strutters, which includes Mr. Bruneau on piano, Geoff Watkinson on steel guitar, Miguel Toc on violin and guitar, and Geronimo Guido on drums.

Choreographer Jacobo Martinez of Darudha Producciones has created dazzling original choreography for the show.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas promises to deliver an evening of laughter, song and heartfelt emotions... "but there’s nothin’ dirty goin’ on!"

Tickets are $250 and can be purchased at Coco's Kitchen, Pulpito 122 or online with a credit card through PayPal at BoutiqueTheatre.ca. Please call (322) 278-6878 for more information.
