La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico - The La Cruz Junior Fishing Tournament returns to Marina Riviera Nayarit for the fourth year on Sunday, July 29th, offering kids ages 4-12 a day of fun in the sun, while competing for fishing equipment, bicycles, and other great prizes.
Five hundred young anglers are expected to participate in this year's La Cruz Junior Fishing Tournament, which is open to all children in the greater Banderas Bay area. "The cost is just a smile and enthusiasm because we don't charge an entry fee... and we even supply the hooks and bait," explains Tepic Fishing Club Director, Francisco Navarrete Buhaya.
This year's tournament offers two classes of competition: one for kids ages 4-8 and another for 9 to 12 years-olds. Four and five year-old anglers may be assisted by their parents, but older children must fish alone with assistance from only Tepic Fishing Club personnel.
Registration is now open and can be made online on the Tepic Fishing Club's website, or at Marina Riviera Nayarit at 7:30 am on the day of the tournament. The competition begins at 8 am and ends at 12:00 noon, when the winners will be determined.
This annual event was organized to introduce the joys of sportfishing to children in the Banderas Bay area, so grab your kids and head on out to Marina Riviera Nayarit on Sunday, July 29th for the 4th Annual La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Junior Fishing Tournament.
