2nd Vallarta Bird Conservancy and Festival Announced

August 13, 2012

2nd Vallarta Bird Festival, March 7-10, 2013

Puerto Vallarta, México – Following up on the successful Vallarta Bird Festival held earlier this year, organizers have announced dates for next year’s event scheduled for March 7 through 10 at Vallarta Botanical Gardens.

The mission of the Vallarta Bird Conservancy and Festival is to promote conservation, education and awareness of tropical and migratory birds in the Puerto Vallarta, Banderas Bay and Cabo Corrientes areas for the benefit of locals and visitors from around the world.

The Banderas Bay region is a hidden jewel on Mexico’s Pacific Coast for bird watchers that's just now being discovered. Activities for all ages are planned during the four-day event, which will feature lectures from world-class ornithologists and activities from sea level to over 4,000 ft. that allow bird watchers to view the birds in their natural habitat.

Highlights expected to be seen during these professional guided tours include spottings of the Citroline and Elegant Trogan, the Squirrel Cuckoo, the Red-Breasted Chat, the Mexican Hermit Hummingbird, and the Military Macaw.

Complete details of the activities, lecturers, and costs will be announced this fall. Keep watching the website for updates. To donate to help support the mission of the Vallarta Bird Conservancy and Festival, for more information, or to volunteer, go to VallartaBirdFestival.org or contact Pat Morrow morrowpat(at)gmail.com.

Located 30 minutes south of Old Town at Km. 24 on Highway 200, Vallarta Botanical Gardens offer something to keep every age group happy; from a Rose Garden for the romantic to jungle trails for the adventurous and a Carnivorous Plants area for the younger generation! The Botanical Gardens' vibrant and elegant settings also offer the perfect venue for weddings and special occasions. Open from 10 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays until December.
