Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - If you are in the Banderas Bay area and still have not sent your ballot back to the U.S. for the upcoming Presidential election on November 6, Democrats Abroad Mexico encourages you to look at the following alternatives:
1) Send it with someone going back to the states to hand carry it and put it in the post.
2) Through October 31st, you can use the Overseas Vote Foundation (OVF) 2012 ‘Express Your Vote’ program. This gives U.S. citizens residing overseas a dependable, discounted delivery service, provided by FedEx Express and set up so that ballots are returned in time to be counted for the 2012 General Election. Click HERE for more information.
3) Investigate Mexican Postal, which gives a timeframe guarantee... depending upon the price.
4) Some states allow you to fax your ballot. If you want to know if this is possible in your state, or if you have any other questions, send an email to Bonnie Mott at bonmott(at)hotmail.com.
5) In some cases, Americans who did not get their ballot in time can use the emergency Federal Write in Ballot (FWAB) available online, HERE.
A huge Thank you/Gracias to the two Mail Boxes Etc. locations in Puerto Vallarta for helping the absentee voting and voting from abroad effort. You have provided a very important non-partisan, public service to all of the U.S. citizens living in the greater Banderas Bay area.
