Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Come to the Paradise Community Center, located at Pulpito #127 on the South side of Puerto Vallarta, on Monday, January 21 at 11 am to share a part of history on U.S. Presidential Inauguration Day.

This is a non-partisan event, and everyone is welcome, so invite a friend to celebrate with us. We especially encourage our Mexican and Canadian friends to come.

Democrats Abroad is sponsoring this event to witness the swearing in of President Obama, his inaugural speech and the parade. The theme for the inauguration is Faith in American's Future and is preceded on Saturday, January 19 by National Service Day, a new tradition introduced at the 2009 inauguration, where Americans across the country are asked to give back to their communities however we can.

The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club will be having a work party on Saturday, weeding and pruning planter boxes. Meet at 10 am at the corner of Basilio Badillo and Vallarta on January 19th. Bring a black plastic garbage bag, pruners and gardening gloves. Or take a trash bag and head out on your street to do some clean up!

If gardening is not your thing, there are several charities in the Banderas Bay area where your time or money can help. Click HERE for a good list of local charities.

Join us at the Paradise Community Center on Monday, January 21st at 11 am for President Obama's Second Inaugural Celebration. A donation of $200 pesos at the door includes an 'Americana' box lunch and a drink of your choice.
