The luxury lifestyle special events company, GBK Productions, honored the 2013 Academy Awards Nominees and Presenters with a red carpet Gift Lounge. The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board also participated in this year's event, giving away ninety-five luxury stays at some of the city's finest resorts.
Special guests such as Flight star Bruce Greenwood, Emmy-Award nominated actress CCH Pounder, Django Unchained star Dennis Christopher and many others were indulged with luxury gifts, music, and gourmet food at the event.
The lounge's interior design was by Danielle Rios, the art by Monika Jensen Productions, and the gorgeous floral arrangements by Hermine Flowers and Gifts. An eclectic mix of beats, compliments of DJ Babychino, drifted throughout the lounge and set the tone for an unforgettable daytime excursion. Comedian Chris Tucker was even heard commenting upon his arrival – "Hey, I’m off to shop and dance!"
In addition to the shopping and dancing, Sky’s Gourmet Tacos provided a lavish taco buffet for celebrities to refuel on, while sweets were provided by Zoe’s Chocolate Company, Cookie Daddy, and Breadbasket Cake Company. Guests also treated themselves to specialty elixirs from Skinnygirl Cocktails, as well as refreshing wines from the celebrity-favorite Moscato brand, Viva Diva Wines.
Each room of the lounge showcased a vast collection of great gifts ranging from organic chocolate bars, to temporary couture body art, to glamorous jewellery and accessories. Many guests were seen leaving the event with an array of items in hand.
Guests were also spoiled with a nice selection of travel options which included the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board providing first class stays in Mexico’s premiere destination for 4 nights / 3 days at some of their most luxurious properties. Caribbean Living, provided all-inclusive trips for 2 to the newest Hard Rock resorts in the Caribbean – Punta Cana & Cancun, and Sunset Savor the Central Coast, gifted two Savor VIP Access Passes to their four-day food and wine experience.
Puerto Vallarta has long been a Hollywood favorite. Its conception as an international tourism destination started in 1963 with the arrival of icons Richard Burton and Ava Gardner - who came here to film John Huston’s The Night of the Iguana in Mismaloya - to then superstar Elizabeth Taylor and author Tennessee Williams. Since then, hundreds of stars have descended on Puerto Vallarta’s shores to enjoy this unique destination, most recently Sofia Vergara, Eva Langoria, as well as Academy Award Winner Kate Winslet and this year’s nominee Bradley Cooper.
