Punta Mita, Mexico - The Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic, an annual celebration of world-class food, wine, and golf, returns to Riviera Nayarit April 11th - 14th. The event will allow you to experience the best of local and international food and wine and the opportunity to play Jack Nicklaus' world class courses.
This unprecedented four-day event marries the sophisticated worlds of culinary excellence and championship golf on one of the most beautiful destinations in the world: Punta Mita - located at the northern tip of Banderas Bay in Riviera Nayarit. In previous years, more than 200 visitors from around the world took part in this celebration and immersed themselves in the culture, sport, and splendor of the destination.
The Gourmet & Golf Classic is quickly becoming an iconic tradition in the gastronomic and golf world. This year, the Classic is thrilled to announce that LPGA legend and former top female golfer in the world, Mexico's own Lorena Ochoa, will be an honored guest at the event. She will even lead a golf clinic on the first day, sharing with us techniques and other secrets that led her to worldwide success.
Festivities include gourmet meals and cooking courses taught by renowned chefs and restaurateurs from around the globe, wine and tequila tastings by famed sommeliers, tequila masters and winemakers, elegant galas and other celebrations on property, sunset sailing adventures, and The Punta Mita Cup - a two-day, prize-laden golf tournament on the property’s prestigious Jack Nicklaus signature courses Bahia and Pacifico.
Open to 160 participants, the golf tournament for the Punta Mita Cup will be played beginning at 8:30 am on April 12th and 13th, with Best Ball on the Pacifico Course & Scramble on the Bahia Course. Guests can also participate in a series of other competitions during the event, including longest drive and hole-in-one contests.
The Gourmet & Golf Classic will welcome an impressive roster of talent. Confirmed participants include celebrity chef and restaurateur Todd English; famed Argentinean chef Fernando Trocca; celebrated chef Enrique Olvera of Pujol in Mexico City; famed chocolatier and owner of Garrison’s Confections, Andrew Shotts; Tsuyoshi Murakami, chef and co-owner of the Kinoshita restaurant in San Paulo, Brazil; Thierry Blouet, chef and owner of Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Abraham Salum, chef and owner of Salum restaurant in Dallas, Texas; notable sommelier and wine expert, Charlie Arturaola; and Laura Catena, fourth generation Argentinean vintner.
