Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - With the purpose of celebrating Canada's 146th anniversary and collecting donations for Puerto Vallarta's Public Library, Biblioteca Los Mangos, the Consular Agency of Canada and Los Mangos are organizing two events for Canada Day on July 1st.

The two events will be the exclusive presentation in Puerto Vallarta of the movie "CICLO" from Andrea Martinez Crowther, and a BBQ celebration at the end of the presentation for all Canadians and their Mexican friends.

CICLO is the story of two brothers, Arturo and Gustavo Martínez who, on May 1st 1956, left their hometown of Pachuca, Hidalgo on bicycles with the desire to cross the continent - and only $100 dollars in their pockets. Eighty-two days later they arrive in Toronto, not knowing this feat would change the entire route of their lives and of their family tree.

The two brothers are the father and uncle of movie Director Andrea Martinez Crowther. Fifty-four years later, Arturo and Gustavo - now in their 70s - retrace the same path, in an exploration of memory, the cycle of life, and the unavoidable passage of time. The movie is in Spanish and English but with subtitles only in Spanish.

The movie will be presented on July 1st at 5:30 pm, and seating is limited. Tickets will be available that same day at 4:30 pm for a donation of $20 pesos per person, or you can purchase your tickets in advance at the Consular Agency of Canada in Plaza Peninsula from Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. At the end of the movie there will be a celebration for Canada Day at Biblioteca Los Mangos from 7:00 to 10 pm. Canadian Consular Agent Lyne Benoit and her guests will be waiting for you to celebrate Canada all together. There will be the singing of the anthems of Canada and Mexico, music, raffles, games, BBQ, and beverages at a reasonable price. All proceeds will be donated to Los Mangos Library.

Biblioteca Los Mangos is the only Public Library in Puerto Vallarta and depends on public donations to support the more than 80,000 services it provides to the community.
