Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - In this day and age, when our heroes are sports stars, leading actors, and rock idols, we have the opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the true unsung heroes: our Puerto Vallarta firemen and lifeguards who continue to keep residents and visitors protected and safe.
How many times have you asked yourself, "Why are they doing that?" Hardly glamorous, hardly good-paying, hardly noticed, they quietly never let us down, and ask for nothing. Their hearts are in the right place, and their sense of humility and humanity should be a lesson to us all.
On Saturday evening, June 29, we have the opportunity to thank the 90 men and women of the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department by attending a 'Cena con Causa' coordinated by DIF Puerto Vallarta.
The fundraiser begins at 6:30 pm, and will feature a sumptuous buffet, live music, an auction, and special guests in the air-conditioned Salon Jalisco at the Krystal Hotel and Resort. Tickets are just $300 pesos, with funds allocated for training and equipment.
Tickets are available at the Fire Department located at Avenida Las Américas 565 in Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas as well as from volunteers on the Southside, in the Marina, Bucerías and Nuevo Vallarta. For more information, contact Gary Green at 322-150-7214 or email gary(at)andalesonthebay.com.
