Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - In Riviera Nayarit luxury is 'par for the course' - and nothing says 'luxury' like the astonishing sea-side landscapes surrounding the Litibu Golf Course, where the Riviera Nayarit Golf Invitational tournament will be held on July 6th and 7th.
72 golfers are expected to participate in the Riviera Nayarit Golf Invitational tournament at Litibu Golf Course, which is just one of the seven Mexican Golf Federation endorsed golf courses that make the region a true golfing destination.
"We are trying to raise the awareness of Riviera Nayarit as a leading golf destination in Mexico," said tournament organizer, Leonardo Bonilla. "Organizing a tournament like this will not only promote golf as an attraction here, but will also allow our visitors to enjoy the game in a fun environment with the chance to win great prizes."
The 2013 Riviera Nayarit Invitational has been designed so that golfers of all skill levels can play for their chance to win great prizes like Bulova watches, gift certificates from major department stores, hotel stays, and even a chance to win $50,000 pesos in cash.
The tournament will be played in Medal Play 36 holes foursomes format, with a combined handicap of at least 55 and only one player with 0-6 handicap allowed.
"We already have 60 players confirmed and we hope to complete the field of 72 for which we are capable. We have been promoting the tournament at courses in the southern and western areas of the country, so an interesting percentage of the players will be visitors from other cities, like Guadalajara, León, Morelia, and Celaya. We hope this will help position Mexico's Pacific Treasure as one of the best golf destinations in Mexico," he said.
Few activities compare to the joy of practicing your swing on any of the amazing golf courses in Riviera Nayarit. The region has positioned itself to be the best golf destination in Mexico, and one of the favorite for golfers around the world. The key to its success has been the combination of sprawling landscapes, tropical forests, and beaches, in combination with the designs from acclaimed professionals like Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Jim Lipe, Robert Von Hagge & Baril, and Percy Clifford.
"When one thinks of golf in Mexico, one may think of other destinations that have been promoting this sport for a longer time, but we believe that Riviera Nayarit is the up-and-coming golf destination in the world," Ted Simons, Executive Vice President of Jack Nicklaus Academies said recently.
