Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit - Know a child, teen or young adult who would like to learn to sail? Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC) summer sailing camps are back, and this year they are bigger and better than ever. Students can now choose to learn Optimist dinghy, Laser dinghy or sailboard. Classes are offered for all levels, from beginner to advanced sailors.
Students will be safely guided to sailing competency by our experienced and internationally trained instructors. All classes will be held in Spanish and English. Students should bring their own life vest, (mandatory) but all other equipment will be provided, as well as a nutritious lunch and hydration every day.
VYC Summer Sailing camps will be held over three weeks in July:
July 8-12: Sailboards for Beginners
July 15-19: Optimist and Laser Sailing for Beginners
July 22-26: Optimist, Laser and Sailboards for Intermediate and Advanced sailors
The Vallarta Yacht Club's Summer Sailing Camps are held Monday-Friday from 11 am to 5 pm and cost $1500 pesos for VYC members, or $2000 pesos for non members, per week. All beginners can take the first week instruction camp and carry on with the intermediate/advanced third week course.
Please register today, as we have limited spaces available. Every year we see our sailor group growing. Our summer camps are great introductory courses to get a good taste of what sailing is all about. Once summer is gone, training continues with the regular sailing lessons.
The Vallarta Yacht Club Jr. Sailing Program provides Fun and Safe Sailing lessons for children throughout Bahia de Banderas. Children are provided with individual sailing vessels, including Optimists and Lasers, and keel boats, and taught water and equipment safety and sportsmanship.
As they grow and start racing, through this program are eligible to participate in competitive regattas with youth from all over Mexico and the International sailing community. Along the way, children gain self-confidence and pride in their accomplishments, while learning decision making and team work skills, as well as developing character, knowledge of and love for the sea.
Located in the Paradise Village Marina at Paseo de los Cocoteros No. 001, Interior 20 in Nuevo Vallarta, the Vallarta Yacht Club is a non-profit membership organization known for its contributions to yachting within the Banderas Bay region.
