Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The Hacienda Jalisco has begun the many steps it takes to become a Botanical Garden. This will be a wonderful "plus" for us, as we will connect with the local Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens.
In order to do this, every plant, flower and tree on the grounds must be labeled and identified, in both English and Spanish. I thought "No problem! I can do this!" I was wrong. Not so easy when you have as limited amount of time as I do.
After pondering this for some time, we have come up with a perfect solution. A small tile with the plant name, in a small frame and anchored to the ground. So, we are inviting you to participate (and assist!) We will be meeting at Fireworks in Los Mercados on Friday, July 26, 2013. Come by anytime between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm.
You will be given a tile and the use of whatever colors, paints you would like to use to "label" the tile. I have a list of over 100 plants/flowers for you to choose from. You will sign the back of the tile. Fireworks will then fire the tiles and they will be placed at the plant/flower/tree at the Hacienda Jalisco. You’ll be part of history!
There is no charge for this. I am supplying the materials/firing. Los Mercados will be offering a 25% discount on all sandwiches from Mikey’s Deli on this day and Nina at Cork + Bottle will be offering wine-by-the-glass for $25 pesos each. What a fun way to spend a couple of hours!
If for some reason you are not able to participate on Friday the 26th of July, we will be doing it again on Saturday, July 27th as well. We would be very pleased to have you participate with us on this exciting new project.
