Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico — The Banderas Bay Women's Shelter International Charity Golf Classic is scheduled to be held on January 18, 2014 at 8:00 am at the beautiful Flamingos Golf course in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
Built in 1978, Flamingos was the first golf course in the Vallarta area. Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and palm trees, the 6,853 yard-long, par 72 championship course combines gently sloping fairways with natural lagoons, marshes and estuaries where over 100 bird species as well as crocodiles, turtles, hares, raccoons, and even several elusive deer thrive.
The course, which was improved in September 2012, has 4 tee-off marks to accommodate long and short distance hitters, providing the right degree of challenge for players of all skill levels.
There will be prizes for longest drive, longest put, closest to the pin, and best team score, as well as a hole-in-one contest on hole number 8, where every player will have the opportunity to win a 2014 Volkswagen beetle! After the tournament there will be a putting contest, a BBQ dinner and awards.
Participation in the tournament costs $150 USD per golfer. Register NOW at GolfDigestPlanner.com, and you'll receive a 1-year subscription to Golf Digest Magazine (a $10 USD value.)
100% of all ticket sales and box sponsors will go towards helping The Banderas Bay Women's Shelter in their continuing efforts to complete the only women and children's safe house in the greater Puerto Vallarta area. When completed, the Banderas Bay Women’s Shelter will be roughly 5,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate 6-8 women and their children with a total capacity of 32 people.
