Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Galerķa Contempo, one of Vallarta's favorite art galleries, is delighted to present four new artist for the upcoming high season. Showcasing contemporary artwork, paintings and bronze statues by well-known and selected up-and-coming Mexican artists, the gallery houses an impressive art collection on two levels.
This year, Yoel Diaz Galvez, Alejandro Mondria, Luis Sn Carlos, and Miguel Lopez Vazquez are joining the talented list of artists that Galerķa Contempo represents.
Yoel Diaz Galvez - Originally from Cuba, his paintings are drafted with the ease of pencil drawings, demonstrating a fluid reciprocal relationship between drawing and painting. At a very young age Yoel started studying elementary visual arts. After graduating with a degree in painting from the San Alejandro Fine Arts Academy in 1998, he maintained an active career, teaching life drawing and artistic anatomy studies as the head of the Arts department and deputy director of specialty drawing at the Fine Arts Academy. Since his student years he has always been interested in the study of the human figure, always viewing the body at its essence and addressing the body from within.
Alejandro Mondria - Born in Mexico City in 1973, Mondria spent his childhood in Mexico and Switzerland. He graduated from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, USA and then studied on a years' scholarship at the Instituto Piazza Cenci in Rome, Italy. His work has been featured in galleries and museums in USA, South America, Europe, China and Africa. He has also been included in collective exhibitions in museums throughout Mexico, including a major solo exhibit at the highly respected Museo de Chopo in Mexico City in 2004. In 2007 Mondria was invited to be part of an art residency at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing, promoting interaction between artists from all over the world.
Luis Sn Carlos - Originally from the state of Tabasco on Mexico's Gulf Coast, Sn Carlos has already had a solo exhibition at the prestigious Museo del Chopo in Mexico City and participated in a collective exhibition at the Modern Art Museum in Los Angles, CA. His pictorial proposal seeks to escape from the traditional concept of pleasure and simply to enjoy the pulse of the human figure through a deep expression of color and lines. There is always an apparent reference to bodily desire in his pieces, enclosing the intention of sensuality.
Miguel Lopez Vazquez - Born in Guanajuato in 1972, Miguel is a graphic designer by profession. His style and technique can best be described as 'abstract expressionism.' In 2012, he had a solo exhibition at Casa Diego Rivera in Mexico City. Lopez Vazquez has participated in several charity auctions and many of his pieces appear in advertising campaigns, mainly in the fashion field.
