Puerto Vallarta Orchestra School Presents Fall Concert

October 7, 2013

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Camerata (string section) of the Puerto Vallarta Orchestra School will present its fall concert on Friday, October 11 at 10 am at the José Trinidad Padilla Lopez Library at the Puerto Vallarta Regional School of the University of Guadalajara.

A repeat performance will be presented that same evening at la Iglesia de la Santa Cruz (the Church of the Holy Cross) in Colonia Emiliano Zapata. This concert begins promptly at 9 pm.

The repertoire is assembled and led by Maestro Samuel Rua and Maestro Miguel Almaguer. This is a selection of pieces that represented a challenge to the new members of the Camerata, all of whom emerged from the OEPV pit. There will also be guest musicians from the Children and Youth Symphony Orchestra of Guadalajara, brother of the OEPV project.

The program, as always, reflects the growth of the students in the academic program. It demonstrates how they've learned to understand and interpret music, to understand the periods and trends that are the basis of all current music, and how they have grown as musicians. It also exemplifies how the OEPV stimulates students with always fun, but increasingly difficult, challenges that consolidate them as symphonic performers.

Everyone is invited to attend these concerts that the boys have prepared with great effort and care. Admission is free to both events.
