Vancouver, BC. - Mexico was successfully promoted as a tourism and retirement destination to thousands of Canadians, mainly baby boomers and retirees, at 'The Zoomer Show,' which took place on October 26 and 27 at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto.
This is the first time Mexi-Go! has participated as an exhibitor in collaboration with the Mexico Tourism Board’s regional office in Toronto and TechBA Vancouver. The organization took advantage of this opportunity to promote the upcoming Calgary Expo, introduce its magazines and its new Real Estate Vacations (REV) program, part of their Development Marketing and Lead Generation Program.
Joel Hansen, Mexi-Go!'s Director of Business Development, represented Mexico and had an opportunity to interact with attendees. When asked about the event, Joel stated, "The promotion of Mexico was a success. It was definitely worthwhile to present Mexi-Go!’s brand in eastern Canada."
At the event Joel had the opportunity to talk about the many destinations that are ideal for tourism and retirement in Mexico. These beautiful sun and beach or colonial towns are ideal to escape the Canadian winter, invest or to retire. Joel says that "Mexi-Go! has always focused on promoting Mexico in Canada through our own positive experiences of living in Mexico."
Mexi-Go! presented its new REV program which connects Mexican real estate with Canadian buyers by using highly specialized multimedia and professional tools which include print, web, direct marketing and Mexi-Go! Expos in Canada.
Joel Hansen was able to represent Mexi-Go! at the show through collaboration with TechBA Vancouver and one of its specialized programs. With support from Mexico Tourism Board Joel gave away promotional Mexico bags and brochures to those who visited the booth. At the show Joel represented and promoted two important partners: Ventanas Hotel & Residences and Mansiones Cruz del Mar.
Mexi-Go!’s strategy to encourage the conversations about Mexico was to have draws for prizes that included accommodations at beautiful Ventanas Hotel & Residences in Cabo San Lucas and a Tequila Don Julio combo.
Market Potential
A few years ago Mexi-Go! discovered the power and potential of the Canadian 45+ market, in particular the baby boomer generation. As a matter of fact, the 45 and up crowd is a force to be reckoned with – they are a market of 15.1 million people, accounting for 57% of all consumer spending and controlling 78% of the nation’s wealth. According to recent stats, in 2012 there were 3,084 commercial and charter flights registered from Toronto to Mexican destinations.
