Engage Mexico's Power Walk to Support Vallarta SPCA

November 14, 2013

The mission of SPCA de PV is to promote sterilization, adoption, and healthcare efforts for companion animals in Vallarta, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Calling all animal lovers! You are cordially invited to come out and strut your stuff this weekend in support of the Puerto Vallarta SPCA.

On Sunday, November 17th, the "Engage Mexico" Conference - which begins this Friday, November 15th - will hold a Power Walk for attendees and anyone else wishing to walk in support of the animals of Puerto Vallarta.

The walk will start in front of the Sheraton Resort and Conference Center in the Hotel Zone. Registration begins at 7:30 am and your donation fee of $150 pesos will include a commemorative shirt. The walk will start promptly at 8:00 and pets are welcome to walk their owners along the easy, flat, 3k loop, which begins and ends at the Sheraton.

For more information on the Engage Mexico Social Media Conference you can visit the organizers website at EngageMexico.com.

About the Puerto Vallarta SPCA

The SPCA was founded here in Puerto Vallarta in 2007 by long term resident Janice Chatterton, who is originally from California.

The shelter is not supported by the government, corporations, foundations or businesses, and last year alone they rescued and found homes for 205 animals.

In January 2012 they opened their gorgeous new sanctuary on the outskirts of town. It is a no-kill shelter and can house approximately 65 animals at once. The dogs there are too often found living on the streets after being discarded and/or extremely abused.

The people at the shelter are devoted to the animal's physical and emotional rehabilitation and everyone is invite to come out and interact with the animals.

Mission

The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption, and healthcare efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area; with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals.

Donations are always needed and monies raised helps to support these various goals in ways that are most feasible within the community.

You can check out their Facebook page, or their website at spcapv.com.
