Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Vallarta's favorite strolling musician, Jorge Acosta, will be performing a special Mexican Concert at Teatro Vallarta on Friday, January 10th at 8:00 pm.

Jorge has always enjoyed music especially listening to his grandmother sing Mexican songs while growing up. He was born in 1977 in Jalapa, Vera Cruz and started singing professionally while in high school and continued for several years at various locations and events. He had aspired to become an opera singer, but when that did not work out, he moved to Puerto Vallarta in 1996 and almost immediately began singing at several popular Mexican music venues.

Classically trained, Jorge's voice is angelic and powerful. Singing a collection of classic Spanish and English favorites, Jorge brings his band to accompany him at each show for an evening of sheer musical pleasure. His voice combined with the symphonious prowess of his band members gets better with each performance.

Most regular visitors know Jorge from his nightly table-side serenades in Puerto Vallarta's popular restaurants. Others know him from the many weddings and private functions he has performed for them - but with his upcoming performance at Teatro Vallarta, Acosta will be moving on to a new stage in his career.

Accompanied by a group of talented musicians (including Vallarta favorite, Eduardo Leon,) and Mariachi, Jorge will entertain concert-goers with a variety of English and Spanish favorites in a spectacular show entitled Música y Canto de México y del Mundo (The Music and Songs of Mexico and the World.)

"This concert will come from the heart. I will be accompanied by excellent musicians and Mariachi, and I am looking forward to singing for you. I'm sure you will enjoy the show, so please join us," said Jorge.

Tickets cost $200 pesos for general seating or $250 pesos for preferred seating. They are now available through ticketmaster.com.mx, at the Ticketmaster Outlet in Gallerias Vallarta Mall (across for the cruise ship terminal,) and at the Teatro Vallarta box office (located at Uruguay 184, just south of Ley’s grocery store on the main street as you enter downtown) Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm.
