Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Though the official numbers have not yet been published, many Puerto Vallarta businesses say that, so far, the 2013-2014 high season has been the best they've seen in many years.
Superior Tours Vallarta owner, Astrid Van Dam, tells us that many of the overnight tours she has scheduled for this season are already fully booked.
"I am indeed amazed by the number of people traveling with us," says Astrid. "Both our tours to the Copper Canyon are fully booked, so we set an extra date. The 'Independence Route of Mexico' has been sold out for several weeks as well, so here too we have set an extra date, and our weekend trips to Guadalajara have never been so successful as this year. Our team has expanded tremendously with great, educated and certified guides that speak multiple languages. We have three guides based in Vallarta, two in Guadalajara, one in Mexico City, one in Oaxaca, and one in Chiapas, in addition to the people at our office in Puerto Vallarta."
Astrid herself is a certified tour guide and tries to personally lead several trips each season, in addition to running the Superior Tours Vallarta office in Plaza Romy. All of her hard work pays off, as it enables Superior Tours to offer travel packages like none other in the greater Puerto Vallarta area.
"Colonial Cities like San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and Oaxaca are requested more than ever. I am really happy that people are realizing that Mexico offers more than just beach towns. There are many archeological sites, canyons, and colonial cities that are worth a visit. My favorite cities are Puebla, Mexico City and Merida, but towns like San Cristobal in Chiapas, El Fuerte in Sinaloa, and San Sebastian are not to be missed either," she says.
Superior Tours Vallarta is proudly a member of AMAV, the Association of Travel Agencies in Mexico, as well as the local Association of Transportation Companies. "I am happy to hear that basically all my colleagues in the travel business admit that this year is the best since the economic situation in the world changed. People are willing to spend money on traveling again, and if they come to Mexico, well, it's our job to make them curious to see more of the country," Astrid adds.
Located in Plaza Romy the Southside of Puerto Vallarta, Superior Tours is a full service, licensed travel agent and DMC - and the Banderas Bay area's leading Tour and Transportation company - offering customized tours in Vallarta, throughout Mexico and to many other countries.
