Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Becas Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place on Sunday April 6, 2014. Join us for a game of golf on a great course, a toast to an old friend, and the opportunity to help secure scholarships for deserving young people in Puerto Vallarta, win a prize, have a laugh or two, meet new friends and renew your spirit. Just plain have a spectacular day!

The tournament format allows you to play your own ball, be competitive but have fun; you don't need to be a good golfer to play, just a good person. You can enter as a team, double or single. Register to play today, and we'll see you there!

Location: Marina Vallarta golf course, Puerto Vallarta

Date and Time: April 6, 2014, 1 pm start, 12:30 check in (Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time begins in Mexico on April 6th.)

Format: Modified Stableford

Cost: $1,300 pesos for guests ($110 USD) or $700 pesos ($60 USD) for members, including golf, cart, prizes and dinner. We are sorry but we don't have a facility to accept credit cards for registration.

The Details: Becas is an old and respected charity in Puerto Vallarta and has helped thousands of young people get educations, using a scholarship program that is designed to be functional and accountable. Information about the charity is available at BecasVallarta.com either directly or via Google. This is a new website; your search might also lead you to the America Mexico Foundation, the information is ok, just a little older. If you cannot get to the tournament, but would like to donate to Becas you can contact Becas via email or mail a check, directions for both are available on the website under "giving."

Tax receipts are available for either USA or Mexican residents, Canadian residents are encouraged to donate, but for now there is no tax receipt available. They are organizing the tournament itself and can help you make it easy. A list of donors will be available at the tournament.

Currently Becas cannot process credit cards. If you are Canadian and want to make a donation via credit card, we can use Derek Alexander group in Calgary to process a credit card and they will provide cash to Becas in Puerto Vallarta.

Don Eastcott: Don, well known in Calgary and Edmonton for his prowess on the ice and later as the host with the most at some of Calgary's best clubs, became one of Puerto Vallarta's true characters. His 'No Name Bar and Grill' was the destination for fun, sports and, of course, the best damn ribs in town. "Hockey night in Puerto Vallarta" will never be the same. Don was a long-time supporter of Becas; sponsoring the golf tournament, monthly breakfasts and the annual ball. When Becas was approached to combine the Becas tournament with a memorial tournament for Don it was a perfect fit.
