Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board will welcome Rolando Miravete, a 30-year hotel management veteran, as its new Tourism Director today, March 17, 2014.
Rolando, who most recently held the General Manager position at the Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort, was officially introduced at a press conference on Tuesday, March 11th. The board’s President, Ignacio Cadena, announced that after reviewing a series of possible candidates from different areas of the tourism industry - including academia and the Mexico Tourism Board - it was decided that Miravete would be the best candidate to bring the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board to the next level.
"Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s most important international beach destinations after Cancun and Los Cabos and we must open-up new markets through trade relations with hotels, airlines, wholesalers, and tour operators," said Miravete. "We need to open more opportunities for international decision makers to include Puerto Vallarta tourism offerings in their catalogs at a faster and more immediate rate and promote them constantly in the Tourism Board’s activities."
Cadena added that the tourism board is investing in continuing the arrival and occupation rates of the destination, with particular interest in increasing visitors from markets in North America and emerging markets in South America and Europe.
Miravete’s career includes Director positions at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarti, Piramides Cancun Beach Resort, and Decameron Club and Casino. In 2012 he joined the team responsible for the Hilton Puerto Vallarta, Mexico’s first all-inclusive Hilton property.
