Democrats Abroad Tuesday Film: 'What Maisie Knew'

April 25, 2014
Gates open at 5:30 and the films begins at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door for a $60 peso donation. Prior to the film, voter registration assistance for the upcoming US election will be available.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico will close this season's Every Tuesday Night Film series with 'What Maisie Knew.' The movie will be presented at the Paradise Community Center on Vallarta's South side on April 29th at 7:00 pm. We thank you all for your support.

What Maisie Knew - Directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, based on the emotional truth at the core of a novel by Henry James, starting Julianne Moore, Steve Coogan, and Alexander Skarsgård. At the center of the beautifully acted drama is a 6-year old child; who, in the words of Henry James, acts as "a ready vessel for bitterness, a deep little porcelain cup in which biting acids could be mixed." Maisie's parents - a rock star and an art dealer - are splitting up, and using their bright-eyed child as a weapon. This film packs a surprising emotional punch, one that stays with you when the movie's over.

Gates open at 5:30 pm and all films begin at 7:00 pm. During the month of April, tickets are only available at the door for a donation of $60 pesos. We invite U.S. Expats to come early this week for voter registration assistance for the upcoming 2014 election. All movie-goers can enjoy the food vendors, wine, beer and other refreshments available at the Community Center starting at 6 pm.

Paradise Community Center is located at 127 Pulpito, directly across from Coco's Kitchen. For further information, contact Tobe Jensen tjensen1942(at)hotmail.com or David and Judy at snowkamp1(at)yahoo.com.
