Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Last week, judges sorted through the Puerto Vallarta Mardi Gras 2015 logo contest entries and proudly awarded the design accolades to Guillermo Palafox.
Palafox's creation incorporated many local icons including the new pier, the area's grand vegetation, and the crown of the main plaza's church and the pod of playful whales calling the Bay of Banderas home. The mask, harlequin hat and feathers complement the fun and diversity of the logo and, of course, the theme of the annual Fat Tuesday celebration.
The February 17th bead-hurling parade is expected to attract over 20,000 spectators and dozens of crowd-wowing entries. For highlights of the 2014 celebration and to join our growing list of friends on Facebook, visit: mardigraspv.com.
The event committee and sponsors wish to thank all those who submitted an entry and extend a special congratulations to Guillermo Palafox. Palafox and three of his guests will be treated to a special night out-on-the-town.
