Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit - On August 21, 2014, the Riviera Nayarit chapter of the Asociación Mexicana de Mujeres Empresarias, a non-profit organization of women entrepreneurs in Mexico, launched a scholarship program for low-income students in the Riviera Nayarit.
In the coming days the organization will be making a presentation in English, which they intend to bring to the attention of national and foreign companies and institutions in order to get more sponsors, but they have already chosen the first lucky student. His name is Sebastian Ruiz Partida and, though he is an excellent student with excellent grades, he cannot continue his studies without financial support.
Pierre Faure and Grupo Educativo del Valle were the first educational institutions to open their doors to the Riviera Nayarit AMMJE and help them select some of the students who will be receiving the scholarships.
"We already have prospects for the middle, secondary and higher education scholarships, because how many times have we seen children who can not continue their studies because they can't afford to go to school? It is them that we want to support," said Paloma Molina, who is in charge of the Riviera Nayarit AMMJE Social Support commission.
She said that those interested in supporting a child's education may request, through the association of women entrepreneurs, tax deductible receipts. For more information, or to learn how you can help, send an email to direccion(at)ammjerivieranayarit.com.
During the women entrepreneurs' monthly breakfast, organized under the theme "Pursuing Your Dreams," the president of the Riviera Nayarit AMMJE recognized Chef Rodriguera Alondra Maldonado, whose book, Sabores de Nayarit, encourages women to get ahead.
Another special breakfast guest was the President of DIF Vallarta, Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, who not only invited the women to learn about the services offered by the institution, but also used the forum to invite them to a workshop on empowering women, which was held on Friday, August 29 at the Crown Paradise Hotel.
