Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Come to ART VallARTa on Wednesday, October 29th at 10 am and learn how to make edible Sugar Skulls for your El Día de Los Muertos Altar in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Nathalie Herling will teach the workshop and offer you hands on instructions so you can make Mexican Sugar Skulls. This workshop will be for adults and is a two-part workshop. Attendees can attend both parts or just the Sugar Skull decorating afternoon portion. Both are included in the $200 pesos ($15 USD) price. If you want to know how to seriously make Sugar skulls for future Day of the Dead celebrations, attending both the morning and afternoon workshops is recommended.
The first half of the workshop starts at 10:00 am at the ART VallARTa Studio on Calle Pilitas 213, where you will make the special sugar mixture to mold the skulls and set them up for drying. This portion of the class takes approximately 2 hours.
To kick off the Wednesday Wine and Design Season, everyone will return to ART VallARTa for a Special Sugar Skull Happy Hour at 4:00 pm to put together the skulls and creatively personalize and decorate them while enjoying Marigold Tequila Cocktails or refreshing non-alcoholic beverages.
The Day of the Dead "Food for our Ancestors" video will be playing in the background as you decorate your skulls with bright colored sugar frosting, sequins and various craft supplies, and dedicate them to the loved ones you'd like to honor.
Please bring your own apron so as to not get your clothing too Sugary Sweet!
