Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - As part of the Third Annual "Pinktober" campaign, the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta (HRHV) will be hosting a 5K "run for the cause" on Sunday, October 19th at 8 am. The run is open to men and women with registration available at the HRHV.

With this third edition of the Pinktober campaign, the hotel brings breast cancer awareness and support to the local community through a 5K "run for the cause," with the $290 pesos registration fees benefitting Grupo Bennu A.C., a local non-profit organization that supports Banderas Bay area women with cancer.

Note that in Mexico, around 14 deaths a day are recorded from this cause, that is, every 2 hours and 20 minutes a Mexican woman dies from breast cancer. This data reinforces the importance of redoubling efforts to combat this disease.

Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta Marketing Manager, Israel Otero, reported that approximately $75,000 pesos were raised during the second edition of the annual Riviera Nayarit Pinktober race, despite a lack of data on how many women benefited from the resources collected. He said that Bennu Group is located in Puerto Vallarta, but also give assistance to the people of Nayarit.

Registration for the 2014 "5k run for the cause" is open 24 hours a day at the HRHV front desk. Participants can pick up their race packages at the hotel on Saturday, October 18th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. For more information, send an email to gescarcega(at)hrhvallarta.com.
