Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico - The sea turtle is a vital component of our ecosystem, which is why the Riviera Nayarit CVB is helping extend the invitation proffered by the Grupo Ecologistas de Nayarit and the Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga-Conanp to their Training Workshop for Turtle Camp Operators.
This workshop focuses on how to adequately care for sea turtles when they are laying eggs, when nests are found or when the turtles are hatching. It will be held on Monday, June 29 in the Di Pietro Room at the Marival Resort Hotel from 8 am-6 pm.
Hydrologist Ernesto Albavera from the Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga-Conanp will lead the workshop, which will include the participation of the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat by its acronym in Spanish) and the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (Profepa by its acronym in Spanish).
An explanation of the highlights of the Official Mexican Regulation-162-Semarnat-2012 will be central to the presentation.
The workshop is directed to turtle camp staff, students, biologists, teachers, volunteers, hotel staff and any individual that comes in contact with the sea turtle or has an interest in learning more about the conservation of this species.
