Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - For the past thirty-three years, the Mexican Academy of Sciences has been offering Sábados en la Ciencia, a scientific outreach program that travels the country and aims to spread the love of science to Mexican children and adults in a fun and entertaining way.
In the Saturday Science program, researchers recognized for their work present conferences in simple language that all age groups are able to understand. The speakers touch on different subjects that are taught in Mexico's schools and educational institutions, in hopes that they'll awaken interest in scientific vocations and thereby cultivate the development of science.
This weekend, science once again calls young and old to the Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus auditorium at Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta), where the University of Guadalajara and the Mexican Academy of Sciences will present Maravillas del Mundo en Clave del Sol, a musical presentation of The Wonders of the World, delivered by Dra. Gabriela Scartascini.
The head of the Arts, Education and Humanities Department at the University of Guadalajara's Centro Universitario de la Costa, Dra. Scartascini has been conducting research on the theoretical and methodological approach of Oral History for more than a decade - so her presentation is sure to be both educational and entertaining.
Continuing on its mission to spread art and culture, as well as scientific knowledge for the conservation of the environment to the people of Puerto Vallarta, CUCosta invites the general public to attend this free conference at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27. For more details, call Alan Yamil Hinojosa at (322) 226-2239.
CUCosta is located past the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, just off the highway to Ixtapa - just look for the posted signs.
