Vallarta Gyms Training More Female than Male Boxers

July 6, 2015

While boxing is traditionally a sport dominated by men, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the tide is changing. Nowadays, many Banderas Bay area gyms and boxing schools are training more female than male boxers.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Boxing is a traditional sport in Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta is renowned for producing world-class fighters.

While boxing is traditionally a sport dominated by men, in Puerto Vallarta the tide is changing. Today, many local gyms are training more female than male boxers.

Boxing schools in Puerto Vallarta run the gamut, ranging from fully-equipped modern gyms to modest schools that don't even have gloves, but they all share one thing in common - Spirit. And the boxers, whether male or female, using all of the latest equipment or sharing gloves and innovating new ways to work out, all have their hearts set on this sport.

In fact, boxing has become so popular in Puerto Vallarta that fights are held every weekend throughout the Banderas Bay region so that boxers from different gyms can battle against each other.

Extra efforts are made to ensure that these events provide a family friendly environment since the sport of boxing, despite the toughness and long hours spent training, develops discipline and physical conditioning - and it's also a great way to keep kids out of trouble.
