Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The city's Municipal Plaza played host to the X Puerto Vallarta "I Madonnari" street painters festival last weekend. Organized in partnership with the Vallarta Institute of Culture, The Tourism Board, and the Santa Barbara - Puerto Vallarta Sister City Committee, this year's event featured nearly sixty incredibly talented artists.
Using the pavement as their canvas and chalk as their medium, the "I Madonnari" transformed the walk ways in Puerto Vallarta's Plaza Principal into beautiful works of art.
After three days of hard work on the part of the participants, the tenth edition of this colorful festival ended on Sunday, November 22, with the judges choosing the winners in the adults, teenagers and children's categories.
Quetzal Reyes won first place for his art work, titled 'Frida.' Reyes will move on to represent Puerto Vallarta in the 2016 Madonnari Festival in Santa Barbara next May.
2nd Place: Eric Montańez, "Cubeta de Agua"
3rd Place: Mónica Ibarra, "El Dolor del Mundo"
4th Place: Daniel Zúńiga, "Salomé"
5th Place: Daniel Medina, "El Robo"
Honorable Mention: Tony Aréchiga, "Pegasero"

The awards ceremony concluded another fun and colorful I Madonnari festival in Vallarta, which was made possible by the support of event sponsors; the Santa Barbara/Puerto Vallarta Sister Cities Committee; event organizer Javier Nińo, and many other supporters and contributors - but above all by the artists who gave life to this event.
