As the NFL continues to expand its inventory in England, they’re also looking at games outside US borders but on the same continent.
According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, a group of league officials will be in Mexico City through Wednesday, trying to determine if Azteca Stadium is prepared to host a game in 2016.
League officials have long identified Mexico and Germany as the next two places they want to put international games. The league has played in Azteca before, with the Cardinals and 49ers playing before a packed house of over 100,000 in 2005.
If the Mexican stadium isn't up to their standards this year, a game is 2017 is probably in the cards, as they continue to push the game outward a bit at a time.
