Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - From the production company that brought you "Oleanna" and "Mass Appeal" comes a comedy full of laughs. Norm Fosters' hit comedy, The Long Weekend, opens March 3 at 7 pm on The Main Stage at the ACT II Entertainment complex.

Prepare to die laughing as you follow the lives of two couples whose wives are best friends and whose husbands hate each other. They come together for a weekend in the country and the planned holiday weekend away from the city turns into a battle of wits, full of clever twists & turns.

Edoardo Rocha and Michael Gibney of Nu Name productions will be bringing to stage three of the original cast members: Michael Gibney, Patrice White and Ross Shapiro with Emmy Award winner Eileen Matthews rounding out the cast of four.

Michael is well known to the Puerto Vallarta Theater community for his acting chops in David Mamet's Oleanna, Bill C. Davis' Mass Appeal and as Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Dr. Gibney has also been showcased as a headliner and singer in Dress Rehearsal.

Some of his credits before making Puerto Vallarta his home included South Pacific, Company, Angels in America and Brilliant Traces, in New York, Philadelphia, Key West and Edinburgh Scotland.

Eileen Matthews, an Emmy award winning producer and actor and longtime friend of Michael, joins him on stage after a hiatus of 30 years when they performed together and the La Salle Music theater in Philadelphia. Eileen dazzled audiences this November as Dorothy in the musical hit Respect, and will also be reprising that role in March.

Patrice White, a Vallarta resident and favorite, will also be reprising her role as Wynn and has been seen in many productions including Respect, Mass Appeal and most recently The Widows of Pancho Villa.

Ross Shapiro arrives to town from Phoenix, Arizona to reprise his character, Max. He is thrilled to be back in Puerto Vallarta and on the stage of Act II, where he also performed in The Ritz.

The "Long Weekend" will be directed by Edoardo Rocha. Mr Rocha had a long and very successful career as one of Mexico's top fashion designers and has become known to audiences for his beautiful costumes, set designs and skilled direction. Edoardo has also been showcased in LOVE, the Concert and Dress Rehearsal at Act II Stages and the Red Room. He is also remembered fondly for his stellar performance as Amos, "Mr. Cellophane," in the musical Chicago.

Michael, Edoardo and the cast and crew of "The Long Weekend" invite you to join them for an opening night gala on March 3 at 6 pm for drinks and hors d'oeuvres and show at 7 pm at Act II Stages for an evening of fun, laughs and good theater.

Additional shows will be performed on The Main Stage on March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:00 pm.
