Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Hey Friends! Can you help? Close by Vallarta, just minutes away, in Nogalito, at Escuela Rural 167 - Niņo Artillero, children are going to school under an old asbestos roof! As I am sure you can understand, this is of great concern to the parents of the children going to school there, as well as their teachers, who all understand the danger this imposes and the irreparable harm to these children's health it can cause.
As these children are sitting directly underneath this asbestos roof, they swelter, especially late in the school year when it reaches 90° F (32°C) or more with 90%+ humidity. They have no air circulation because the donated ceiling fans cannot be attached to the Asbestos Roof as it is not strong enough to hold them. They desperately need a new roof!
The children that HAVE lunch are eating their meager meal on the ground. They have no tables to sit at nor chairs for them to sit at a table... This school really needs our help!
In order to have a new roof constructed, then have the ceiling fans properly installed and a couple of picnic tables with benches made out of concrete, they have received a quote with an estimated cost of around $5,000 USD. So that is the goal!
If you can help out in any way, whether it's time, money, supplies or knowledge and abilities, it would be so greatly appreciated!
Your donation will go a long way to helping these kids have a better school environment where they can focus on their studies and improving themselves.
You can change their world for the better!Donations can be accepted in person with Leslie Hyland or online through their Go Fund Me account. For those who are able to donate supplies, or their time, knowledge and/or abilities, please contact Leslie via Facebook to make arrangements. If you have any suggestions on how this school can be helped and how it can all be accomplished, please let her know. Again, any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated!
