Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in Puerto Vallarta (Canaco Servytur), together with the Municipal Council and Directorate General of Tourism and Economic Development of San Sebastian del Oeste, invite the public to attend the first ever Expo-Sale of traditional products made in the Sierra Madre Occidental region.
With the support of the National Commission for Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), thirteen producers and entrepreneurs from San Sebastian and surrounding villages will showcase their merchandise at Plaza Caracol this weekend.
The general public is invited to come out to the shopping mall on July 29 and 30 to taste and buy regional goods, such as organic and sweet coffees; food products made with native maize, like cornmeal, baked items and gorditas; along with fruit punch, jams, cookies and other goodies. There will also be booths selling locally-made crafts and providing information about the area's tours and services.
Canaco Puerto Vallarta works closely with municipalities in this region, providing on-going training in matters such as packaging and labeling to help boost sales of the distinctive products created by small business owners, and offering advice on accounting practices and legal issues.
Come out to Plaza Caracol this weekend and give these small business owners your support. You are sure to find something you'll treasure at a very reasonable price - and you might even learn something about the history of Mexico, as the village of San Sebastian was founded more than 400 years ago!
