Puerto Vallarta - The Hotel Barceló Puerto Vallarta will be the venue for the Double Weekend Challenge, an event aiming to foster sports and bringing together multi-discipline groups of both genders and all ages, who enjoy practicing sports and physical activities, mainly Crossfit.
The event will encompass a friendly tournament to take place on the weekend of September 29 to October 2 and is organized thanks to the participation of Barceló Hotels, the municipal sports commission (COMUDE), the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Gatorade.
Participants will carry out a series of trials to move forward in classifier stages, until the best team is found. This is a team (pair) competition.
The Double Weekend Challenge's objectives are to help promote Puerto Vallarta as a sports destination; to foster sports, and to attract tourism to the city by means of quality, accessible sporting events. This time, room nights generated by the event will benefit the Barceló chain, and they will be promoting the event through their associate OTA's and agencies on both national and international levels.
It is expected that men and women ages 14 to 70 will enter the competition, although a greater participation is expected from the segment of men, ages 25 to 34.
National participants will come from several states in Mexico, while international competitors are expected to fly in from United States and Canada. 200 competitors are expected to register in any of the four tournament categories: beginners, intermediate, RX and masters.
In addition to the experience of the Crossfit competition, participants will have the opportunity to attend conferences led by renowned crossfit and nutrition specialists. The event will be graced by the attendance of important athletes from the crossfit scene.
If you are into Crossfit, Hotel Barceló Puerto Vallarta is the place to be from September 29 to October 2, 2016. There will be prizes for the first place winners, and recognition certificates for all participants. For more information visit the event page on Facebook.
