Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There's nothing like coming home to a room enhanced with aromatics. Now it is easier to fill your personal space with a wide variety of fragrances because Scentsy is being sold in Puerto Vallarta and around the Bay for the first time.

"My cousin has been selling Scentsy for years," says Scentsy Independent Consultant, Laura Gelezunas. "I was visiting her home in the United States when she received her fall/winter promotional box of goods and it was just amazing. We chatted and she said I could sell Scentsy in Mexico. So I embarked on the journey of becoming the Banderas Bay area's director."

Scentsy has been around since 2004. It started as a small, family business and transformed into athriving international fragrance company and a leader in the direct selling industry. The company is a world leader in home and personal fragrance, offering stylish, innovative and customizable products. Laura, who lives in Puerto Vallarta, is the company's first independent consultant in the greater Banderas Bay area.

Scentsy's claim to fame is their wickless candles. You melt aromatic wax in a warmer, which only gets hot enough to melt the wax, but not so hot to be dangerous, as there is no flame. There are almost 50 fragrances to chose from and a variety of warmers to diffuse the fragrance.

• November 11, 2016 - Linda's Nail Lounge, Los Tules 252, near Costco, 5 to 7 pm
• November 16, 2016 - Casa Karma, Carretera a Barra de Navidad 1247, 6 to 8 pm. Proceeds from this event will be donated to PEACE Animals. This organization spays and neuters pets all over the bay.

Most people live in open homes and candles or incense are not effective or messy. If you'd like to stave off bus fumes, smells from the local taco stand or to take a break from the salty air, consider a Scentsy product. These are imported from the US to a warehouse in Mexico City.
