Many of Vallarta's Weekend Markets Are Still Open!

April 28, 2017

You can shop for fresh produce, baked goods, foods to go, clothing, jewelry, unique gifts and more at the weekly markets that remain open in Puerto Vallarta after the snow birds have flown north for the summer.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - From specialty foods and natural remedies to unique jewelry, clothing, accessories, art and home decor, the Banderas Bay area's many weekly markets offer the best of Puerto Vallarta. While many of the weekly open-air and farmers' markets have folded up their tents for the summer, many remain open for your shopping pleasure.

The Olas Altas Farmers Market closes for the summer on April 29, so be sure to head out to Lazaro Cardenas Park this Saturday from 9:30 to 2:00 pm to stock up on the "Handmade and Homegrown" goodies. Don't miss your last chance to shop the 90+ booths filled with great food, like tamales, tacos, homemade ice cream, paella, pizza, baked goods, meat pies, nut butters and sprouts; and unique items like musical instruments, soaps, jewelry, clothes, baskets and more. The Olas Altas Farmers Market, located in Lazaro Cárdenas Park in Colonia Emiliano Zapata, will resume in November.

Three Hens and A Rooster, the fun, clean, friendly and beautiful Saturday market in Old Town, remains open year round. Open every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, this weekly market offers foods to go, baked goods, Jewish comfort foods, homemade fresh sausages, organic coffee, natural remedies, card readings, jewelry, clothing, home decor, accessories, arts & crafts, and more. Three Hens and A Rooster is located at Carranza 466, just a block and a half west of the small tunnel.

The Marsol Market by the Pier continues through April and the summer market begins on May 6 through the end of July every Friday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. The Marsol Hotel lobby keeps our vendors (and shoppers!) protected from the rain and hot sun, so you can still get your favorite market items, like specialty foods and condiments, organic vegetables, coffee, honey, jelly, nuts and dried fruit; handicrafts, beachwear, bags, leather goods, clothing, jewelry and accessories; home decorations, original art, books, maps, essential oils, live plants, cigars - and more! Inventory changes from week to week, so be sure to stop by every Friday to see the new products and enjoy the live music inside the lobby of the Hotel Marsol, at Francisca Rodriguez 103, next to Los Muertos Pier.

Mercado Los Mangos, Puerto Vallarta's newest outdoor market, will remain open every Saturday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm through the last Saturday in June. Held on the grounds of the public library, Biblioteca Los Mangos, this 'buy local' market offers a great selection of locally produced artisan products. Choose from produce, baked goods, coffee, cheese, salsas, chocolates, clothing, jewelry, and arts & crafts. Live music and entertainment, a food area with international dishes made on site and a children's craft tent. Biblioteca Los Mangos is located at Av. Francisco Villa 1001, Col Versalles, Puerto Vallarta.
