Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - In a town that relies on tourism, the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club's (PVGC) mission of 'Beautifying Vallarta' makes all other endeavors here more successful. Without a vibrant economy, neither the businesses nor the many other worthwhile charities can thrive.
Here's the PVGC's latest newsletter:
Dear Garden Club Supporters: This season was our biggest ever and we wanted to say thanks for helping us exceed our goals. We couldn't have done it without you.
This season:
• Our volunteers planted more than 3,000 plants
• We set a new membership record
• Our annual Gala sold out with 248 in attendance
• P.V. Garden Club Facebook page gained over 6,300 Likes and followers
Next season, we have even more exciting things planned and news on upcoming events and projects will be released over the summer.

Visiting any beautiful gardens this summer?
If you have photos of gardens - maybe even your own - please publish photos on our Facebook page. It helps keep people interested in our page and inspires us with our gardens here in Puerto Vallarta.
Save the Date: January 23, 2018
Please mark your calendars for Fiesta Azul, our largest event of the year. Our official announcement will be made in November, so stay tuned for more details.
Pier Street Project
Francisca Rodriguez, the street adjacent to the Los Muertos Pier, now has a series of beautifully planted garden areas and many new benches for visitors to stop and enjoy. The spaces are being well tended and will be even more spectacular after months of sun and rain. This was our largest project of the year and we're thrilled with all of our new plantings. If you're out and about in Puerto Vallarta, make sure you come by to see what we've done.
Filling our many Jardineras
The Garden Club has constructed hundreds of jardineras (planters) on Avenida Mexico, Olas Altas, Basilio Badillo, Insurgentes, Pino Suarez, Ignacio Vallarta, the Mercado area near the Rio Cuale, and elsewhere. This season, our volunteers spent months filling them with beautiful, perennial plants that thrive in tropical environments. This summer, we will continue filling open spots here and there to make sure they're lush and gorgeous by the end of the rainy season.
