Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Boutique Dinner Theatre is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the team. Melissa Tropp has stepped into the role of Managing Director for the 2017-2018 entertainment season.
Melissa will help The Boutique establish standard theater practices, guide marketing efforts, and facilitate The Boutique's continued operation.
Tropp (or "Troppy" as she is called) comes to Puerto Vallarta with a wealth of theater and administrative experience. After receiving her undergraduate degree in theater (acting) at Illinois State University, she immediately moved back to her native Chicago to pursue theater work. Over the next 18 years, she served on the artistic and administrative staff of two theater companies, worked in conservatory theater admissions in The Theatre School at DePaul University, and was seen working on and off stage in Chicago in too many different capacities to count.
After earning her master's degree in PR and Advertising, Troppy began freelancing in the Chicago theater community, helping her clients with their media relations, marketing, PR, and social media; work that she continues to do remotely from right here in Vallarta. Boutique audiences will remember Troppy from last season as Caitlin in the ensemble piece, Over the River and Through The Woods.
"Everyone at The Boutique is thrilled with this addition," says Ken Sebryk, General Manager of the Boutique Theatre. "After last season's successful run, it became clear we needed to grow our team, and Troppy's skill set is just what The Boutique needs."
Since moving here a year ago and working remotely, Troppy is delighted to have found a local need for her particular skills and experience, and looks forward to getting back into the theater with the team at The Boutique.
The Boutique looks forward to releasing its schedule of shows and events for 2017-2018 in the next few weeks. Follow The Boutique Dinner Theatre on Facebook, or call Catherine Caldera at 322-728-6878.
The Boutique Dinner Theatre is located at Basilio Badillo #287, above Nacho Daddy Restaurant on the south side of Puerto Vallarta.
