Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Mexican wine industry has had a big boom in the past decade, with some calling Ensenada (the largest Mexican wine producing region in Baja California) the "new Napa." If you thought you had to travel further north to enjoy Mexican wines, we have good news for you: we now have a fun and easy way to learn about and enjoy Mexican wines right here in Puerto Vallarta!

Uncork Mexico, a new wine shop and concierge service launched in 2017, offers residents and visitors of Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerías the opportunity to participate in guided wine tastings, and to purchase delicious wines at reasonable prices with their handy wine concierge service.

The wine concierge service was born from the realization that it can be incredibly hard to navigate the Mexican wine landscape without someone helping you find the right options. Vanusa and Natalia, the owners and managers of Uncork Mexico, spent months talking to overwhelmed wine buyers in local shops, studying the wine list of our restaurants and meeting with wine producers and importers.

They did all that work with a clear goal in mind, which was to be able to help their clients find delicious wines, within their budget, and that match their taste. After looking into several options, they came up with the perfect formula: a select list of 60 rotating tried-and-trusted wines (no overwhelming pages with thousands of random options), 1-on-1 client support during the wine selection process, and reliable hand-delivery service to homes in Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerías. Talk about ease and convenience!

The wine tastings have been a huge hit this fall with locals, even before the high tourism season started. Clients can choose between private wine tastings and public tasting events. If you are looking to not only try new wines but to also learn how to describe your favorite wines, understand a wine label, identify wine producing regions, etc. - the tastings are a great option for you.

The private wine tastings are for groups of 4+ people who want to enjoy a guided wine tasting without having to leave the comfort of their home, hotel or villa. Clients can contact the Uncork Mexico team to set up a date, time, the number of attendees and location, and the company brings a full-service wine tasting to their home - wines, antipasto, Spiegelau wine glasses, forks, knives, the works!

The public wine tastings events are intimate events (8 attendees max) offered in partnership with art and tourism businesses in Vallarta, giving clients not only the chance to learn about new wines but also to discover beautiful new spaces.

The tastings scheduled for November and December 2017 will be held at the gallery space at Taller OPC - Oficina de Proyectos Culturales, at the open area at Vallarta CoWork and at the pool area at Villa Mercedes Petit Hotel. However, the word on the street is that the Uncork Mexico team is already working on January dates with locations in more Puerto Vallarta areas and also in Nuevo Vallarta and Bucerías.
