PVCO Presents 'Chamber Music Under the Stars'

January 9, 2018

January 13, 2018, Update: Due to a scheduling conflict, the IAMPV Chamber Music Concert is being moved to 7:30 pm on Sunday January 28th, still at the Centro Cultural Isla Cuale. The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra will be joined by a brass quintet from Guanajuato.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Under the inspiring leadership of Conductor Daniel Oliveros, the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra (PVCO) will present "Chamber Music Under the Stars," at the Centro Cultural on La Isla Cuale on Saturday, January 27 at 7:00 pm.

Join us for a pleasant evening featuring a variety of instruments (string, brass and woodwind) presented in small ensemble groups - classical music like you have never heard it before in Puerto Vallarta.

Several ensembles drawn from the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra will perform music by Beethoven, Corelli, Mozart and other composers ranging from baroque to modern eras. Tickets will be available at the entrance for a donation of 150 pesos (students and children 50 pesos - under 5 free). Drinks and snacks from local restaurants will be on sale.

The venue will showcase the Centro Cultural, home of the IAMPV music instruction programs. Event proceeds will help the Institute of Musical Arts finance the educational and musical projects that comprise it, like the Flute Ensemble and the Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra, which is a student Big Band that has been performing in several venues around town. For more information about the IAMPV's educational programs, call 322-131-8800, open registrations.

About the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra

What started out as an intercultural cross-generational project, with its first rehearsals in 2004 and premiere concert in 2005, has steadily grown to the size of a full orchestra. With over 40 members, including expatriates, professionals and advanced local student musicians, the PVCO is now the most advanced orchestral ensemble in Puerto Vallarta, bringing together people of varied ages and backgrounds from Mexico, the United States, Canada, England, China, Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba.
