Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The brainchild of local artist Natasha Moraga, the Mosayko Vallarta project has been committed to making Vallarta shine brighter by bringing art to the streets since 2012. With her signature mosaic style and technique, "Nat" has put her heart and soul into creating exciting new additions to this already artful city.
Moraga's art installations can be seen all over Vallarta, from the huge "Puerto Vallarta" sign as you enter the city from Nayarit, to the murals in Marina Vallarta and the benches on the walkway that leads to Los Muertos Pier.
Natasha has just begun her dream project with her brother Daniel Moraga, creating another internationally recognized icon in Puerto Vallarta: El Parque de los Azulejos / Tile Park PV. The huge undertaking of reshaping and transforming Lazaro Cardenas Park is Mosayko Vallarta's largest project to date. They have taken on this visionary project in celebration of Puerto Vallarta's 100th anniversary, though they receive no funding from the city government.
El Parque de los Azulejos is a completely self-funded art installation. Nat buys all of the tiles and supplies herself. A limited number of plaques are available for purchase to help defray her costs, but Tile Park PV is basically her gift to the city.
So the community is coming together at Mantamar Beach Club on March 21st at 7:30 pm to give Nat support and express our gratitude for this spectacular gift to the city.
This gala benefit to raise funds for the completion of Tile Park PV is going to be THE event of the season with live entertainment provided by Amy Armstrong, Geo y Luis, Hedda Lettuce, Kim Kuzma and Miss Conception; a live auction, silent auction, raffle and fabulous door prizes!
Donations have been pouring in for the items up for grabs, including gift certificates from Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, La Palapa, Vista Grill, Coco’s Kitchen, Archie’s Wok, Salud Super Food, and other local businesses; paintings by Francine Peters, Jean-Gabriel Lambert and Jade Peyton; a tour of Banderas Bay on a private plane; and much more!
Tickets cost just 500 pesos for General Admission, or 650 pesos for a VIP Reception at 6:30 pm, and are available at the Olas Altas Farmer's Market on Saturday or by emailing info(at)tileparkpv.com
All proceeds from this event will go directly to funding El Parque de los Azulejos. Beautifying our city and rejuvenating her soul, one tile at a time.
Mantamar Beach Club is located at Malecon #169 and Los Muertos Beach on PV's south side. To learn more about Tile Park PV, and how you can help, visit parqueazulejospv.com.
